Dev Anand Birthday: Young at 88

Dharam Dev Anand born 26 September, 1923 better known as Dev Anand is an Indian Hindi Cinema actor, director and film producer. 

Dev is the second of three brothers who were active in Hindi Cinema. His brothers are Chetan Anand andVijay Anand.  

Their sister, Sheel Kanta Kapur, is the mother of renowned Hindi and English film director Shekhar Kapur.

The Government of India honoured him with the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contributions towards Indian Cinema.

 

 

Born on September 26, 1923 in Punjab - which is now in Pakistan. He migrated to Mumbai and started acting in the late 1940's.

t was only natural that he was honoured with Padma Bhushan in 2001 and the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2002 for his contribution to Indian cinema.

 He will be playing role of a CBI officer in his upcoming flick 'Chargesheet' which is all set to hit the screens soon
